Stainless Steel 310 I-Beam does not perform well in chloride solutions, even in small concentrations, or in sulphuric acid service. Stainless Steel 310 I-Beam is non – magnetic in all conditions and has excellent formability and weldability. The austenitic structure of Stainless Steel 310 I-Beam also gives excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures. SS 310 I-Beam has chemical and mechanical properties complying specifications. Such dual certified SS 310 I-Beam does not meet specification and may be unacceptable for high temperature applications. SS 310 I-Beam must be water quenched or fully annealed after working to re – attain maximum corrosion resistance.

CuNi 90/10 is more economical and offers good corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, ideal for standard marine piping and heat exchangers. CuNi 70/30 provides higher strength and better performance in aggressive or high-velocity seawater, commonly used in offshore and desalination systems.
