Monel is a metal superalloy with a nickel content of 65% – 70%, a copper content of 20% – 29%, and manganese content of 5%. Monel is a series of nickel-copper alloys including tiny quantities of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. Nickel content ranges from 52% to 67%. Because it contains less than 60% copper, monel is not a cupronickel alloy.

Characteristics of Monel

Extremely corrosion-resistant. Monel is well-known for its resistance to corrosion and rust. It’s corrosion-resistant and acid-resistant, and some alloys can even endure a fire in pure oxygen.
