A buyer usually considers Alloy C22 when stainless steel or a lower-alloy nickel material does not provide enough resistance to oxidizing chemicals, chlorides or mixed process streams. Lakshya Steel supplies Hastelloy C22 products under the designation UNS N06022 / EN 2.4602 in pipes, tubes, plates, sheets, bars, flanges, fittings and machined components for chemical processing, pharmaceutical, pollution-control, pulp and paper, marine and waste-treatment projects.
C22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy valued for resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress-corrosion cracking and many oxidizing and reducing media. It is not a universal solution for every chemical. Buyers should share the process medium, concentration, temperature, product form, dimensions and testing requirements through the request-a-quote form so the material and product specification can be reviewed before quotation.

C22 Designations and Nominal Composition
| Item | Reference Value | Buyer Note |
| UNS | N06022 | Use the UNS designation on the purchase specification. |
| EN / Werkstoff | 2.4602 | Common European material designation. |
| Nickel | Balance | Base alloying element. |
| Chromium | Approximately 22% | Supports resistance in oxidizing media. |
| Molybdenum | Approximately 13% | Supports resistance to localized corrosion. |
| Tungsten | Approximately 3% | Contributes to corrosion resistance. |
| Carbon | 0.015% max | Low carbon supports weldability. |
C22 vs C276 Selection Guide
| Selection Point | C22 | C276 | Buyer Note |
| Oxidizing media | Often offers a wider margin in oxidizing chemical environments | Widely used in reducing and mixed environments | Check actual chemical, concentration and temperature. |
| Wet chlorine and oxidizing chlorides | C22 may offer an advantage in specific wet-chlorine conditions | May be less resistant in some oxidizing chloride conditions | Use corrosion data and process review. |
| Availability by form | Available in common wrought forms | Widely available in many forms | Confirm the required product standard and dimensions. |
| Welding and fabrication | Good ductility and weldability | Good fabrication characteristics | Cleanliness and qualified procedures remain important. |
Common Standards by Product Form
| Product Form | Common Reference | RFQ Detail |
| Plate, sheet and strip | ASTM B575 | Thickness, dimensions, finish and condition |
| Rod and bar | ASTM B574 | Diameter, condition, tolerance and length |
| Seamless pipe and tube | ASTM B622 | OD or NPS, wall, length and testing |
| Welded pipe | ASTM B619 | Dimensions, weld condition and examination |
| Welded tube | ASTM B626 | OD, wall, length and testing |
| Forgings and flanges | ASTM B564 | Type, size, pressure class and facing |
