What is Stainless Steel Syphon?

A Stainless Steel Syphon is a simple device designed to protect pressure gauges from hot substances like steam, helping them last longer. In high-temperature systems, a stainless steel siphon reduces the effects of sudden pressure changes, keeping sensitive equipment safe. These siphons are affordable and allow system designers to use pressure sensors with lower temperature ratings in hotter applications.

For the siphon stainless steel to work well, it’s important to fill it with water or another suitable fluid when it’s first installed. Typically, SS siphons are made from strong materials like stainless steel, carbon steel, or alloy steel and can handle temperatures up to 200°C. For specific needs, extra coils can be added, and the length of the siphon tube can be customized.

In steam systems, stainless steel siphons are connected between process taps and pressure gauges to prevent direct contact between the gauge and live steam. With excellent heat dissipation properties, stainless steel syphons protect pressure gauges from extreme heat, keeping them accurate and reliable.

Why It’s Special

Cleaning and Care Instructions

Very easy to clean it from the outside and from the inside: Disassemble the siphon easily by loosening a single screw – and clean its individual parts.

This is especially important when your dry toilet wasn’t not used for a longer period of time. For while there is only fresh, odorless urine in the siphon when the toilet is regularly used, deposits can form once the toilet gets some downtime. 

To spare yourself a costly cleaning, just rinse it in time with a little water. The remaining urine will wash off – no chance for deposits and unwanted odors. 

For cleaning, we recommend our Beetroot Cleaner and our Compostable Sponge Cloth. Both are eco-alternatives to conventional cleaning products.

Important: Although the siphon is the ideal composting toilet odor control, it can’t offer a 100% leak protection for your dry separation toilet. At angles that exceed 40 degrees, liquids can trickle through the O-ring.
