The 316Ti grade of stainless steel contains a small amount of titanium. The titanium content is usually only around 0.5%. The titanium atoms stabilize the 316 structure at temperatures above 800 ° C. This prevents the carbide from precipitating at the grain boundaries and protects the metal from corrosion. The main advantage of 316Ti is that it can be stored at higher temperatures for extended periods without allergic reaction (precipitation). 316Ti retains physical and mechanical properties similar to standard 316 grades.
