What Are Stainless Steel 304 Fittings?

Stainless Steel 304 fittings are the parts that help connect, guide, or change the direction of pipes in a system made from SS 304. Think of them as the essential building blocks that keep everything flowing smoothly — securely and without leaks.

Containing 8% nickel and 18% chromium, SS 304 stainless steel is the very popular material for piping and piping components. It offers a great mix of strength, corrosion resistance and easy workability. These fittings are built to handle pressure, resist rust, and last a long time — Whether used in high-pressure environments or corrosive conditions.

Heat Resistance of Stainless Steel 304 Pipe Fittings

Stainless Steel 304 can handle high temperatures quite well. For occasional use, it’s fine up to 870°C, and for constant heat, it can go up to 925°C. Just a heads-up though: if you keep it in that 425-860°C range for a while, it might become a bit more likely to rust if it’s exposed to moisture later.

Heat Treatment of Stainless Steel 304 Pipe Fittings

For solution treatment (annealing), heat to 1010-1120 °C and cool rapidly. Remember, the stainless steel grades cannot be hardened by heat treating.

Welding of SS 304 Pipe Fittings

SS 304 fittings have excellent weldability with all common fusion welding, using filler metals or without filler metals.
