At Lakshya International, we consider ourselves to be of excellent quality 400 / K500 Monel Seamless Pipes, therefore we use the highest quality raw materials used in our production processes. 400 / K500 Monel seamless Piping provides exceptional corrosion and oxidation resistance which opens the door to a wide range of applications.

Monel 400 or alloy 400 is a solid solution alloy, whose constitution is made up of nickel and copper. While nickel consists of about 67%, the inclusion of copper in the chemistry of Monel 400 Pipe stands at about 23%. As typical for most nickel containing alloys, this grade tends to have high strength even at an elevated temperature. Though the use of the Monel 400 Seamless Pipe is not recommended exceeding a temperature of 1000° F.

The melting point of this monel alloy ranges between  2370° F – 2460° F. A high melting point is indicative of a better dimensionally stable ASTM B165 Alloy 400 Seamless Pipe, especially since high temperatures often cause a change in the molecular flow of the metal, thereby changing its physical appearance. 

One exception to be noted is that when the material is in an age hardened condition, K500 Monel Bush Hex Pipe has a greater tendency toward getting attacked by  stress induced corrosion cracking in some environments.In stagnant or slow moving sea water,  bio fouling may occur and the UNS N05500 Welded Pipe is attacked by pitting. However, pitting of K500 Alloy Seamless Pipe slows down after a fairly rapid initial attack.

This nickel based monel k500 pipe is spark resistant.  Up to a temperature of -200° F, the K500 Monel Welded Pipe exhibits non-magnetic behaviour. However, it is possible to develop a magnetic layer on the surface of the Monel DIN NR. 2.4375 Pipe during its processing.

What is the difference between 90/10 and 70/30 copper-nickel?

CuNi 90/10 is more economical and offers good corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, ideal for standard marine piping and heat exchangers. CuNi 70/30 provides higher strength and better performance in aggressive or high-velocity seawater, commonly used in offshore and desalination systems.
