HASTELLOY C-22 alloy (UNS N06022) is a well-known and well-proven nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to oxidising and non-oxidizing chemicals, as well as protection against pitting, crevice attack, and stress corrosion cracking. Its high chromium concentration gives far better resistance to oxidising media than the family standard, C-276 alloy, as well as remarkable resistance to chloride-induced pitting, a sneaky and unanticipated kind of attack that stainless steels are prone to. HASTELLOY C-22 alloy, like other nickel alloys, is extremely ductile, has good weldability, and can be easily manufactured into industrial components. What is the difference between 90/10 and 70/30 copper-nickel?

CuNi 90/10 is more economical and offers good corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, ideal for standard marine piping and heat exchangers. CuNi 70/30 provides higher strength and better performance in aggressive or high-velocity seawater, commonly used in offshore and desalination systems.
