What is Copper Nickel 90/10 Sheet and Plate?
Copper Nickel 90/10 Sheets and Plates – are flat-rolled products of 90 copper and 10 nickel with iron and manganese added to them, so that they are designated UNS C70600 and DIN 2.0872. They have high seawater corrosion resistance, biofouling resistance, as well as good formability. The sheet products (0.3-6 mm) are in compliance with ASTM B151/ ASME SB151, whereas the plate products (6-150 mm) are in compliance with ASTM B171/ ASME SB171.
What is the difference between Copper Nickel 90/10 and 70/30 Plates?
Copper Nickel 90/10 Plates (UNS C70600 / DIN 2.0872) are cheaper and have a good level of corrosion resistance in most of the usual marine applications. UNS C71500 / DIN 2.0882 Copper Nickel 70/30 Plates (UNS C71500 / DIN 2.0882) are more robust, capable of operating in higher velocities of seawater and most importantly used in more demanding and high pressure or temperature service. In the majority of applications 90/10 is sufficient and less costly.
What surface finishes are available for Copper Nickel 90/10 Sheet?
We have our Copper Nickel 90/10 Sheets and our UNS C70600 Sheets in mill finish, 2B finish, BA (Bright Annealed), number 4 finish, No.8 mirror finish, hairline, brushed and polished and sandblasted. Water jet, plasma and laser cutting services are also used to cut copper, nickel 90/ 10 sheet and plate that is cut to size.
