What Is ASTM A269 TP316 Stainless Steel Tube?

The ASTM A269 TP316 stainless steel tubes are austenitic stainless steel tubes. The tubes are used in applications such as chemical operations, pharmaceuticals, food industries, hydraulic and heat exchangers because of their high strength, hardiness, and high resistance to chlorides. Molybdenum is added to these tubes, and therefore, they have a superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance to that offered by 304 stainless steel grades. ASTM A269 316 Stainless Steel Bright Annealed Tubes are highly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion, therefore they are tolerable in chloride-prone conditions. This grade does not need post-weld annealing, which increases fabrication ease.
