ASTM 1008/1010 Steel Coils & Sheets Manufacturers and Suppliers in India
Lakshay Steel is one of the biggest manufacturers and suppliers of ASTM 1008/1010 Steel Coils & Sheets in India. ASTM 1008/1010 steels being low carbon steels, are ideally suited for applications where formability and weldability are priorities. Our cold rolled steel products are best suited for use in home appliances, furniture, automobile bodies and many more applications. 1008 cold rolled steel and 1010 cold rolled steel both have moderate draw forming capabilities. 1008-1010 Carbon Steel is plain carbon steel with a nominal 0.08-0.10% carbon content. It is relatively low strength steel but it may be quenched and tempered for increased strength. We also provide stronger thickness tolerance and non-standard thicknesses at the request of customers.
The A1008 (AISI 1008) cold rolled (CR) steel sheet has good formability compared with hot rolled. ASTM A1008 CR is produced by annealing and temper rolling hot rolled steel sheets. This process lends the steel sheet formability, surface texture and flatness, and superior surface quality.
A1008 is a standard specification for cold rolled, carbon steel. The process of cold rolling the sheet creates a smooth surface which is typically oiled to prevent surface rust from forming. The cold rolling process also creates good drawing and spinning characteristics and a steel sheet that works well in most common steel processing options.
At Lakshya Steel, we deliver top-notch equipment without compromising on quality. Customer satisfaction is our top priority, so we create trust, reliability, and assurance that lasts. Choose our ASTM 1008/1010 steel coils and sheets at reasonable prices for your projection needs and best results. FAQs
What is the difference between ASTM 1008 and 1010?
The difference between ASTM 1008 and 1010 steel is their carbon content. 1008 (max 0.10% carbon) is more ductile and formable, while 1010 (0.08-0.13% carbon) is slightly harder and stronger.
What is the ASTM equivalent of 1010 steel?
SAE-AISI 1010 steel and ASTM A356 grade 8 are both iron alloys, sharing approximately 97% of their average alloy composition. There are 31 material properties with corresponding values for both of these materials.
What is 1008 steel used for?
AISI 1008 carbon steel is mainly used in the production of extruded, cold-headed, cold-upset, and cold-pressed components and shapes.
